Alliance for Digital Equality, Connected Nation and Communications Workers of America (CWA) Form National Partnership

WASHINGTON, DC – Three leaders in the field of national broadband deployment and adoption – the Alliance for Digital Equality, Connected Nation, and Communications Workers of America – today announced a groundbreaking partnership designed with a near-term goal of educating the American consumer about the benefits of new broadband technologies, and retraining the workforce for new job opportunities in a variety of tech-related fields. Additionally, the partnership is poised to lead the long-term charge to improve the nation’s broadband infrastructure, as detailed in The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).

Success of Broadband Stimulus Depends on State Public Private Partnerships

Washington, DC: The clear path for orderliness, transparency, measurability and results has been laid out by Congress and should be considered by the agencies now responsible for investing broadband stimulus dollars, according to testimony provided today by Connected Nation’s CEO Brian Mefford. Along with leaders from the Commerce Department and U.S. Department of Agriculture, Mefford testified to the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet regarding the implementation of broadband expansion projects outlined in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
